Donna Prince (she/they)

Donna is a theatre maker, teacher, and creator of wonderfully strange things for wonderfully strange people. Over the years she has attempted almost every job in the theatre (sometimes even professionally!) and has become known for her inventive, award-winning craftsmanship. She built the puppets for Shakespeare Aliens, created a prize-winning cow for Eddie Perfect’s The Beast, and most recently made and performed the monsters in Shakespeare Ghostbusters. By day she teaches Theatre Making, Drama, and Textiles at a school in the Macedon Ranges.

Outside the classroom and workshop, Donna brings a delightful list of quirks to the ensemble. She is midway through a sleeve of spaceship tattoos, simply because she really loves spaceships. In her twenties she spent a brief but memorable period as a race-car driver. She has worked in theatre for 27 years, and has transformed her home into a lush indoor jungle ever since discovering house plants during COVID. She also holds actual qualifications in chicken welfare from the University of Edinburgh; a certificate she proudly displays above her two teaching degrees.

Donna’s all-time favourite sci-fi series is Stargate SG-1 in the order of: the MacGyver years, then Farscape, then Universe and Atlantis. She is extremely excited about the possibility of a new series, adding: “Please, let that actually happen this time!”
