Jenny Lovell (she/her)

Jenny performed in Jane Austen Improvised in both the 2025 Comedy Festival and the 2025 Fringe with Impro Melbourne. She is a founding member of the company, which will be celebrating its 30th anniversary next year. She is also the Head Teacher in the Diploma of Theatre Arts at Melbourne Polytechnic.

Jenny starred in Prisoner, the seminal 1985 series for female actors, playing Jennifer Hartley, who was wrongly accused of murdering her grandmother. She lived a wealthy lifestyle in lovely Ripponlea for the first four weeks of the contract before her character’s entry into Wentworth. She appeared on the show for six months, memorably pretending—sometimes badly—to play classical piano, repeatedly declaring “I didn’t do it!” and then crying.

She grew up with Doctor Who and is still terrified of Daleks. On her last day at university, she took herself into the Sydney CBD to see Star Wars (the original and best). When the Star Destroyer appeared from the top of the screen, she believes she squealed with delight.
